Summer is the season when fashion happens effortlessly. The sun shines brighter, the fabrics are lighter, and the vibe is all comfort merged with playfulness. But if there is one thing that can take your overall summer outfit to a completely different level, it is shoes.
The right pair not only finishes your outfit, it also determines the vibe of the day. After testing out, styling, and wearing so many pairs myself, I've rounded up top shoe trends that I think all of your wardrobes should include this summer.

White sneakers are timeless, and Nike Air Force 1s are the ultimate. I've worn mine with flowy dresses for a date-night look, with denim shorts for casual wear, and even with a summer blazer set for dressing up. If you're searching for one pair of sneakers that will never fail you in summer, this is the pair.

These are my trusty sandals in case I require an object that can serve for both work and evening supper. The block heel gives the support so that you can walk comfortably, but offers elegance. I use them with short shorts during the day, and for night, I replace it with a sundress, and they are perfect either way.

Loafers have become so much more versatile. The lightweight ones from Cole Haan are stylish yet super comfortable. I’ve worn them with denim for a casual vibe, with linen trousers for a more polished summer look, and even with skirts for a bit of flair.

Espadrilles just scream summer. My personal favorites are the Tory Burch wedge sandals. They give you a touch of extra height without torturing your feet, and they pair well with maxi dresses, wide-leg pants, or flowy skirts. When I'm wearing them, I feel like I'm on vacation, even if I'm just wandering around the city.

For casual, everyday comfort, Teva sandals are a winner. They’re water-resistant, super practical, and yet they don’t compromise on style. I’ve worn mine for long city walks, grocery runs, and even on weekend trips.

If you like sneakers with some playfulness, Converse platforms are an essential. They offer some height without sacrificing comfort and have that awesome, retro vibe. I love to wear them with cute skirts, wide-leg jeans, or even work attire when I want to keep it stylish but laid-back.

Mules are a type of shoe where you can just slip in and be cute immediately. Sam Edelman's models, especially the square-toe models, have a modern and easy-to-elevate look. I pair mine with slip dresses for evening out and with shorts for a relaxed daytime look.

There are some days when the day is just too long, and you just need shoes as durable as the day itself. That is where Skechers slip-ons win. They are ventilated, cushioned, and light, which makes them perfect for travel days or weekend days. I have worn them to the airport, on errands, and even for casual meetups.

Slip-ons by Vans are classic for a reason. They bring California cool to everything. I wear mine with loose, breezy sundresses, cropped pants, and even regular jeans. They're easy, laid-back, and always stylish.

These are the shoes that I go for if I need comfort without overthinking. TOMS alpargatas are light, breathable, and absolutely effortless to pair with everything. The canvas material makes my feet stay cool on hot days, and I've used them to go out for brunch, running errands, and quick coffee runs.

If you want a little preppy appearance, boat shoes from Sperry are the best option. They're durable and designed for summer by water. I'll be wearing mine with linen pants or sundresses when I'm in the mood for that nautical aesthetic.

When I need softness and comfort but a touch of style too, I turn to UGG sandals. They are easy and simple to slip on, perfect for flying or an evening in, and add a level of sophistication to even the most subdued of outfits. They prove that comfortable shoes don't have to be frumpy.
Summer shoes are all about versatility, style, and comfort. If you're a mix-and-match fanatic, use neutral colors, and they will match with anything. If you want your shoes to stand out, use bold colors or quirky textures. The ideal shoes don't just complete your look, they make you feel different while wearing them.
