You are aware that lipsticks can change your mood completely. Confidence-boosting reds and nudes that seem to be timeless and so forth, each shade has a story behind it.
When Louis Vuitton, and I mean the Louis Vuitton, introduced their own line of luxury lipstick at an unbelievable cost of 160 dollars, I had to find out whether it was simply a fancy way of making the package look expensive, or they really had something unique. I have been using the LV Rouge Satin Lipstick over the past few weeks and I can tell without any doubt that it is more than a product, it is a kind of experience. And surprisingly, it is all worth it.
The packaging was the first thing that attracted my attention. The lipstick is in a smooth, gold-colored case which is stamped with the monogram of Louis Vuitton. Not only is it very pretty to look at, but it is also refillable, which makes the price tag immediately a bit more justifiable. The caps fit perfectly by strapping them to the bed with a satisfying click, a small touch that gives it the luxury it so distinctly has.

Upon the initial pick-up, it is heavy, solid and refined, what you would anticipate with any Louis Vuitton brand. This is not the type of lipstick that you can throw into your handbag but a piece of art that you will be proud to display.
The LV Rouge brand of Louis Vuitton is offered in more than 50 beautiful colors with a satin and a matte finish. The color that I picked is Silk and Spice, a warm rosy nude shade, which suits most skin tones. It is one of those colors that immediately can make your appearance high and does not make you shout.
My favorite part is the manner in which the colors are refined, they are bright and yet classy, without the need to be overboard. Do you like bold reds such as Monogram Rouge or subtle pinks? It has a shade that will suit every mood and occasion.
And since the tip of the bullet is petal-shaped, it is easy and accurate to use without a lip liner. I have put it on casually during brunches, meetings, and even on a date night, and every time it has helped me to look well dressed in terms of makeup.
Louis Vuitton obviously did not intend this to be another lipstick. The brand claims that 86% of ingredients are naturally sourced and approximately 85% of the ingredients are beneficial to skincare. The formula includes:
The first time I used the LV Rouge Satin Lipstick, I was impressed by the texture. It is so smooth and yet it does not give the impression that it is greasy and heavy. It swipes like silk (pun intended) and dumps in one swipe with all the color. I did not need to make back and forth, the payoff of the pigment is that vivid.
I wore it the first time when I was busy with running errands and holding a coffee meeting. However, the color remained after several hours, and a cappuccino. It passed away somewhat after lunch, to the inner lips, but without patchiness and gracefully. All it took was a fast application to make it appear as though it were a fresh application.
The price may sound ridiculous in case you are expecting a normal lipstick. However, when you consider it to be a luxury experience, then it all makes sense. It is not a product which we purchase under the influence of necessity, it is a product which one purchases because of being a lover of beauty and admiring craftsmanship.
